7 Quick Takes Friday (Volume 10)

YAY!  It's Friday!!  And it's time for 7 Quick Takes!   Check out Conversion Diary over here!  As usual, I'm just going to spout off the first 7 things about my week that come to mind - no rhyme or reason here.

1.  I won not one, but two blog giveaways this week!  I won a $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook and a ticket to the Heart of the Matter (online) Homeschool Conference!  I couldn't believe it!!  I'm thrilled about the cookbook!  I think I'll pick a recipe (or two or three) and cook them, then show you!  As for the homeschool conference, well, I could've kicked myself.  I entered the giveaway last week, but then due to my oldest son having a bike wreck that ended with lots of blood gushing from his head on Saturday, then my 4 and 6 year olds getting a stomach/fever virus on Sunday and Monday...well, I didn't really keep up with all the blogs I regularly check.  So....I didn't find out I had won until Tuesday night...when the conference was half-way over!  Thank goodness, I'll be able to review it all via MP3 recording next week!  Thanks to Sprittibee and We are THAT Family for the awesome giveaways!

2.  Speaking of giveaways - I finally got a picture of a prize I won many months ago.  I'll tell you about it later this week - but here it is...it's a Vinyl Wall Photo Print...2' X 3'...isn't that cool?

3.  I mentioned in #1 that my son had a bike wreck.  It was a nasty ordeal.  He was trying to ramp - or rather he did ramp, then he was going really fast, hit a hole, flipped his bike and somehow ended up with 2 gashes in his head.   I mean, blood oozing through his fingers, covering the side of his face, dripping off his chin BAD.  But he's okay now.  It's healing beautifully and he only complains now when we have to change the bandage.

4.  My husband and I are starting a new Crown class in 2 weeks.  If you aren't familiar with Crown, it's a Bible-based financial class.  We took the class about 8 years ago (when I was pregnant with Caleb - that's how I remember), then we became leaders and we've taught it 3 times since then.  It's wonderful - it's why we're debt-free.  We are super excited to be teaching it again - in fact, we had enough students signed up that we have already planned to start the 10 week class again as soon as this 10 week cycle is done!  Yay!

5.  I got a new book in the mail this week - The Cake Doctor Returns.  Mmmmmm.  Maybe I'll bake something for you this week!

6.  Speaking of baking...I told you last week that I wanted to do some baking this week.  I only baked once - but these Sour Cream Banana Muffins were wonderful!

Oh, and I made about 2 weeks worth of breakfast for my husband.  I just cooked up a batch of biscuits, fried some fresh sausage, put them together and froze them.  He can just pop one out each morning and microwave it and bam - hot breakfast!

 

7.  My laundry has taken over.  Well, it's clean laundry - I wash and dry everyday.  I just can't seem to make myself fold it everyday.  I guess I  need to wrap this up and get to it.  Uh-huh, I do.  When my husband and kids stop looking for socks in their drawers and start coming straight to the baskets piled everywhere, I know I've gotten behind!  Oh well - at least they're clean!
