It's Friday..and time for 7 Quick Takes Friday! Be sure to visit Conversion Diary to read more Quick Takes. In the meantime, here are 7 little notes about my life this past week. You can read all my previous Quick Takes here.
1. We are DEBT-FREE this week (except for our house)!!!! YAY!!!! This is by and far the most exciting thing that's happened this week! We prayed about it for a couple of months and finally knew what we had to do. My husband knew all along; it just took me longer to see it. Anywho - it took some drastic measures to pay off our truck (more than 3 years early!!)..and while I was unsure about the method we chose (maybe I'll tell you about it one day soon), it was the right thing to do. With the occasional unexpected expense (#4), it's a huge relief to know that our budget can relax a little, our debts are all paid, and we can start to really save, save, save! Now if only our house would sell...anyone wanting to move to rural southern MS?? I know a great little house...
2. I finally got a few pics of the snow and snowman I told you about last week (#1 and #7) ...here' are my favorites:
Caleb with his snowman!
Joshua's 'Blockhead' Snowman
Sarah 'posing' with her snowman (and her bow falling off...hehe)
Snow on the ladder Joshua built from 'scratch'...isn't it cool looking?
3. I'm doing my first giveaway this week on here (its the Wii Your Shape game)! Yay! I'm very excited about it. I've spent a huge (too much) amount of time this week online trying to promote, spread the word, think of ways to get it 'out there'. I obviously love freebies (ahem, in case you couldn't tell) and winning things...well, I love that too! And it's even more exciting to be giving something away! I wish I could do it all the time.
4. Although it wasn't a book I planned to read, I saw it at the library this week so I grabbed it and in just 3 days, I finished Kristen Hannah's "The Things We Do For Love
5. I'm lovin' watching the Olympics! I've always loved ice skating, but I'm growing to love the downhill skiing and snowboarding, too. I can't really get into the slower skiing...you know, the shuffling across flat snow for hours and hours and hours (boooooorriiiiiing). But I've also been watching some curling...just because it makes me laugh. I know it's serious to some (don't get your panties in a wad if I offend), but seriously? Sliding shiny rocks across ice with little brooms to 'steer'? An Olympic sport? It cracks me up!!
6. I haven't done any baking this week and I'm missing it. I wanted to do cookies or brownies at least a hundred times, but instead I just kept eating Butterfingers that my kids got me for Valentines. It was easier than adding to the mess in my kitchen. But not as good. Maybe tomorrow?
7. I'm learning to tweet. It's fun... And addictive... And I'm going to have to limit my Twitter time. I'd never have dreamed that I'd be twittering or tweeting, but I am. I'm making new friends - very funny happy friends! And I love making new friends! Oh...and it's helping my blog traffic. Which makes me happy, too!! Plus, Okay. I need to stop. It's very late Thursday night as I write this and I must sleep. I've told you before that I ramble...and I like ellipses...and they get pretty excessive when I get really tired...so I'm off! Until next Friday!

rose, where is the house you have for sell?
ReplyDeleteDiane - it's in Poplarville (where we moved from). We've had it on the market for months and haven't had a taker. So for now...we rent and own...a real budget strainer! :-(
