Swagbucks FAQ: 5 Ways to Win MORE!

If you aren't using Swagbucks...it can't be because I haven't told you about it! But, if you want to win more, I thought I'd write up a little tutorial on some basic things to show you how!!

First off, Swagbucks is FREE. Actually, it's better than FREE because you win Swagbucks when you search and you can redeem those for gifts or gift cards. I've been a member for about a year and I've redeemed for $85 in  Amazon and Alice.com gift cards. Right now, I have 2420 Swagbucks in my account because I decided to save them for a bigger, better prize vs. cashing in for a $5 gift card every time I get 450 Swagbucks. I haven't decided what that bigger, better prize will be, but I'm saving up nonetheless. So...here are a few tips to earn more Swagbucks.

1.  Make Swagbucks your default search engine and search for EVERYTHING. I never just type in www.whatever.... If I want to check my email, I search for 'hotmail' or 'gmail'. If I want check my bank account, I search for 'Chase' instead of just typing it in. If I want to work on my blog, I search 'adventures in savings'.  Doing it this way, I win Swagbucks every single day. Usually 2-3 times per day. 

How do you make Swagbucks your default search engine? Just follow these steps.

• Create or login to your account (you'll get 3 Swagbucks just for joining).
• Go here and scroll down to Plugins. 
• Click on "Install Plugin" for the browser that you use (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.). 
• After installing, click on your search engine box and make Swagbucks the default. 

See?  That's my search box and the little 'sb' shows me that I'm searching with Swagbucks.  Still having trouble? Email me.

2.  Install the Swagbucks toolbar.  Here's how:

• Again, create or login to your account.
• Go here (same page as Plugins) and the Toolbar option will be the top option...click on Install.
• Follow the prompts to get it installed.

Now, it will look like this...

 

You can see..on the Toolbar, you'll be able to see how many Swagbucks you have at any given time and .you can search directly from the Toolbar  Oh, and see that little circled box.  That's where you'll get messages from Swagbucks with codes for FREE bucks.  I don't know this for sure, but I think I get a new message at least once per week...and some weeks they'll do promotions where you get one a day.  When you have a new message, the box will have a little yellow * and there will be a number in the [0].  

3.  Sign up for the newsletter and read it.  There's often a new Swagbuck at the bottom of each newsletter.  To do that...

• Create or login to your account.
• On the menu to the left, click on "Sign Up For Newsletter" and enter your email address.
• That's it...you're signed up (I think...you might have a verification email, it's been awhile since I did it).

Once you get a code in an email or for an offer (see below), you'll need to go to Swagbucks.com and enter the code on the Gimme box..it looks like this:

4.  Another thing you can do is Swagbucks Special Offers.  Now this takes alittle more time and effort - I don't always do it, but it's not too bad.  Go to Swagbucks and look for a bar like this (or on that menu above you can see Special Offers is the 3rd thing down).....

Click on the bar or menu and it'll take you through several steps and offers.  They are all 'No Obligation', so unless you're interested, you'll want to scroll to the bottom and skip each offer to get to the end and your Swagbucks code.  I just did one and I think I skipped through 5 or 6 offers to get to the end.  At the end, you'll get a code that you'll enter in the gimme box (above).

5.  Lastly, refer friends and you'll win when they do!  Before I started blogging I didn't earn much from referrals, but that has picked up since some of my readers have signed up through my referral (thank you all very much).  I've actually earned more in the past couple of months than I did in several months combined before.   So if you're already a member, or you're signing up today...get busy referring your friends and winning Swagbucks!
