Be sure to visit Conversion Diary to read more Quick Takes. In the meantime, here are 7 little notes about my life this past week. You can read all my previous Quick Takes here.
1. First off, I got less than 5 hours sleep last night, so I'm somewhat foggy-brained this morning. When I was young (wait, I'm still young...but when I was younger) I could stay up all night, run all day, and never miss a beat! These days, I need at least 7 hours of sleep or the world moves in slow-motion for me. With that in mind...
2. I finished another cake last night. Well, I almost finished it, but I have a few finishing touches to put on it. I'll show you a sneak peak of it... stay tuned for a full-size picture of the finished product later today! You can see a few of my completed cakes here.
3. Have you ever dreaded and looked forward to something at the same time. That's how I feel about this weekend. I am looking forward to it on principle. It's the weekend - it's supposed to be relax time, break time, time to sit around, read a book, sleep late.
But that's not what my weekend is going to look like. My great aunt passed away so we'll probably spend part of the weekend at a funeral. I also have to wake up early and do my bi-weekly grocery shopping on Saturday. Then there's the bridal shower and my Crown class - both I'm really excited about, but both also require some more work before I'm ready for them. Oh, and my husband is possibly going to our house to do some work, which means it'll just be me and the kiddos...he's such a huge help on the weekends that it's going to seem like just another weekday. Ugh. What happened to sleeping in and relaxing?
4. Then again, I'll have fun... who couldn't with kids like this to hang out with?
5. I told you last week that my hubby plays trumpet! I got this pic of him last Sunday at practice....
I'm just so proud of him!
6. I was standing in front of my frig the other night and I got the living daylights scared out of me (what does that phrase mean anyway?). There was this huge POW and the frig shook and I ran to the bedroom shaking thinking someone had shot at me. When I finally realized I wasn't bleeding, I went back to the kitchen to find out what had happened. To be continued...
7. The rest of the story... I love Diet Coke with Splenda. It's my coffee. Sometime I have sudden craving for it that I cannot deny, only to find out that I don't have a cold one in the frig. So what do I do? I stick one in my ice maker and turn on a 10-15 minute timer. But guess what? If the timer goes off and a child stops it without telling you and you get so busy
Have a Happy Weekend. Until next Friday...
