Look What I Got Yesterday....

...it's my new cake pans... and other supplies for my brother's wedding cake!  Yippeeeeeeeeeee!  I felt like a 5 year old on Christmas morning yesterday when I opened the box!  I know, I know.  Who get's that excited about cake?  Well...I guess I do!

So....I may or may not be around much for the rest of the day.  If my plans work out (which is never a guarantee with 6 kids underfoot), I'm hoping to wrap up this post, get lunch ready for the kids, clean the kitchen (it looks worse than this today), get a roast in the crockpot, and then make a miniature practice wedding cake.

I initially told you about the upcoming wedding cake when I was working on this zebra/make-up cake.  Then I practiced with fondant again on this New Years cake and I made this Valentine's Cake to practice scroll work.

Well, Jake (my brother) and Ariel (his wife-to-be) are still a little undecided on fondant vs. buttercream, so I agreed to make a couple of versions (miniature, of course) so they could hopefully decide.  Personally, I'm leaning toward fondant because I think I can do a better job of making it really smooth and pretty, but if they decide on buttercream...that' will be fantastic too...I hope!  Either way, I need all the practice I can get and I'm sure my kids won't complain about having to eat a cake!!  So, now that my square pans are here...I'll be back in a bit - to post some more deals and freebies as usual, and maybe to show you a cake.

Just for fun, I searched for a pic of one of my kids eating cake...I found this one of my Sarah eating her first birthday cake back in 2004...isn't she precious??? I think so!

And this is her last week...with her favorite doll (and their matching hairstyles)...Sarah will be 7 in a few weeks. I can hardly believe it!  She's such a beautiful little girl...can a Mommy say that about her own child?  Because I am!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
