  2. I've always placed my cake pan on top of the paper and traced around it with a pencil (or even the sharp point of the scissors) and then cut it out for the perfect shape. Your way is a lot less cutting!

  3. Wow! What a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing. My family specialty is a 14 layer cake. Cutting 14 circles has been a pain. This will be SO much better!

  5. I forgot to mention ladies... if you didn't know (thinking specifically of you Kathy), you can reuse parchment paper. When I baked the layers for a cake recently, I reused the same paper 3x for all three layers of the 10 inch circle and again 3x for the three layers of the 8 inch circle. Then I toss it.

    I also reuse parchment paper - even if it's for something like cookies that don't cover the pan.
