1.
I finished reading a book last night! Have I ever told you that Nicholas Sparks
is my favorite fiction-romance author? I love his books! In fact, they're the only books that I actually collect. I have first-edition copies of every book he's written so far. This week, I read his newest novel, Safe Haven
. Let me just say that while it wasn't my favorite (that would still be his first novel...The Notebook
), Safe Haven was a fantastic novel and if you get a chance, I think you'll enjoy it!2. Joshua, my adorable oldest son sold his first set of chickens at a poultry sale this week! Yay! He also bought a new hen, a Rhode Island Red. He's very proud of his purchase!!
He also won second prize when they judged his chickens...I'm very proud of him and his chickens!
3. While Joshua had a Leadership meeting with 4-H this week, I decided to take the 4 youngest to a nearby playground. They had lots of fun!
4. I know I told you last week that this wasn't a cake blog, and it's not, but did you see the Bridal Shower cake I finished up last Friday?
Well, I spent 8+ hours yesterday working on 2 more cakes due this weekend, so I promise to be sharing more cakes on my non-cake blog very soon! (hehe)

Speaking of cake...did you see the loot I won from Betty Crocker? I made some of those Betty Crocker Warm Delights Minis
6. I haven't been getting much sleep...going to bed around 1am most nights and tossing and turning alot sometimes not passing out until 2-3am. I'm wondering, have any of you other Mommies ever struggled with insomnia during pregnancy? None of my friends seem to have really dealt with it and I'd love to have any recommendations to get some good rest!

Lastly, have any of you started Christmas shopping yet? I have (barely), but today, October 1st means there are only 84 Days til Christmas!!! Ahhhhh!!!

4-H - That explains the chickens. When and where is State Fair? I know I missed the county fairs, but when & where are they? I was in 4-H in Wyoming, and I miss it. :)

Christmas... I've been thinking about it at least. :) Our family does a gift swap among the older generations, but we haven't drawn names yet.
