Elegant White Wedding Cake

Just over a week ago, sort of at the "last minute" I was asked to do a wedding cake. It's only my second wedding cake order.  The first was my brother's cake last year.

The request was for three tiers, solid white.  She didn't have any preference on decorations, no extra colors or special flavors.

So, I made a white wedding cake.  Simple and elegant.

I made a huge gum paste bow to go on top and wrapped ribbons around the bottoms of the tiers.  Simple.

Oh, and I brushed a little white and silver pearl dust on the bow and ribbons...but it's not all that "visible".  I thought a different background would help, but it didn't.  I think I just didn't add enough to get real sparkle.

I played with  my camera, indoors and out, trying to get the best light, but none of the pictures captured it exactly the way I wanted.  I'm still learning.

For a moment, I considered adding the flowers from the miniature wedding cake, but  took them off again.

I liked it better without them.  Just simple and pretty.

This is a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, covered in marshmallow fondant and decorated with a gum paste bow and fondant ribbons.
